Live edge coffee table
This live edge coffee table was made from a large slab of canary wood. It first had to be flattened, which required using a large jig with a router to make sure the slab was truly flat. From there, a crack near the end of the slab needed stabilized. To do this, a bowtie joint was made on the underside and the split was filled with a stabilizing glue. Not only does this bowtie feature stabilize the split, it is also an aesthetically pleasing feature. Finally, it was thoroughly sanded and hairpin legs were attached. Boiled linseed oil was used to give the table a durable, beautiful finish.
